Private Residence, Nottingham

A large well lit kitchen, dining and homework space was created in this family home through the reorganisation of the the rear of the property. The dining room and kitchen were combined and extend, providing a utility and shower room to the side of the property. The front reception was closed off from the dining room to create a separate peaceful space for down time.

The clients were keen to do much of the work themselves including decorating and laying the flooring, using reclaimed parquet at the front, and engineered parquet flooring over underfloor heating in the open plan spaces at the rear.

Stiwdiowen worked closely with their client group of church elders, chapel goers and other users of the building through a period of consultation to develop a feasibility study identifying the main requirements for improvements to the building.

We assisted the client in making a bid for funding for essential work to the chapel to make it accessible to all, updating the Victorian building to current standards of health and safety and making improvements that would attract more people from the community to make use of the historical building.
